Mrs Red and I are off to Orlando on Sunday, it was a last minute thing and we got a good deal.

Mrs Red has Multiple Sclerosis and outside of the hotel room is a wheelchair user. So water parks, jet boat rides and roller coasters are not our bag.

We like America as they deal with the mobility issue so well. We have a rental car so can potter around.

Suggestions for nice places to vist, towns, museums that sort thing would be most welcome.

So far I've read Winter Park is a nice area to visit.

Mamas comedy show is good, for a bit of serenity amongst the madness is Eola park, art museum and science centre are both good sunset lake in Kissimmee is good for erm sunsets spectacular if weather correct and also a short ride away Daytona beach Daytona speedway and Kennedy space centre all cope with people with mobility issues very well from what I have seen

We've done the Space Centre on a previous visit some years ago, it's awesome and I'd go again but it's a bit of "blokes" day out and Mrs Red says she's seen it all once and doesn't need to see it again!

    Eola Park sounds good.

Funny you should mention that. Mrs Red takes Cannabis oil to relieve spasticity and allow her to sleep. That's not exactly something we can waltz through MCO with so I've been online trying to find a source in Orlando and have been pleased to find it's actually entirely legal there and I can get it delivered to the hotel.

Mrs Red would enjoy that, anything animal related always gets a vote from her.

    The one that starts!
As mentioned above, I'll second Daytona. The speedway often have stuff going on. You can drive on Daytona and Ormond beach! (watch out for Cole and Rowdy)
Shame your not going Feb as the 24hr is great!
Its amazing the tiny little places you find tucked away out those parts if you head inland a bit. Shame I cant remember any names or how to get there, but I can see it all now!!

If you're going to Winter Park I can recommend these guys if you fancy some shooting...

East Orange Shooting Sports - Orlando and Winter Park gun store & range

Great people who give you all the time in the world and are very reasonably priced compared to the more advertised ranges who just rush you through. We went in September and shot small pistols through to assault rifles.

Can't see you'd have any probs with a wheelchair.

Clearwater is nice. In terms of parks Epcot is not ride focused, but is beautiful and I'm sure will be wheelchair accessible.

That really appeals to me. As a teenager I did rifle target shooting and used to enjoy it a great deal.

We've been to Epcot previously and found it enjoyable. That's one that both of us wouldn't mind doing again.

I agree with Lake Eola Park for a very pleasant walk in Orlando. A scenic boat tour of Winter Park is well worth it. The small but comfortable pontoon boats take you around the lakes looking at some nice homes and through the canals that link the lakes. I seem to remember that the 18 seat boats are easy to get on and off. The driver we had was an excellent tour guide.

If you're willing to do the 200 mile round trip, St Augustine is a nice drive and worth the effort. It's the oldest settlement in the USA (or something like that) and an interesting place to explore.

In that case you have to. Last time I went shooting was old Lee Enfield's with the Air Cadets several decades ago and had never shot a modern weapon before, here's my eldest firing an AUG with red dot sight...

Last time I went it was for the Drag Racing world finals, titty bars, gun ranges and the theme parks.

    Ha Ha!

It's been a very long time since I was there, but we saw the Cirque du Soleil show which was stunning, but that was in the day when there were only a handful of shows on around the world - not like now.

Glades sounds good, I would love to do that.

    Florida in January... Sounds great.

I need to sort my priorities out. That sounds much better than being at work!
