Had the brochure for the Porsche Cayenne GTS ,,,spoke to the salesman at porsche sutton coldfield how says they have one fot instant delivery, looks a great car most optional extras ,its basalt black with black leather/alcantara but only 5 seats and 4 litre petrol in to minds whether to wait for a new order gl(3 to 4 months) or jump on the only brand new GTS Cayenne in the country now (is this just sales bull) any comments polite or not ,,.regards jon

The fact that he has one for instant delivery would suggest that demand for these is way lower than it used to be, even if the GTS is probably the pick of the range. You'll need a deep wallet for the petrol!

Sounds nice enough! Can only comment on the previous Cayenne S, which is very nice indeed :D

THE Cayenne s is still a current model this is a GTS which is like a new special edition model xxx jon

Hello

I just googled it as don't know what the GTS looks like. In all honesty I don't like the front. It just doesn't look right. If its like this picture I'm also not keen on the wheels and where are the roof bars? are they an option.

Black will look better for sure and if it IS one of the first then resale soon after may not be too bad. Keep it a yr and I dread to think...

Have a friend who test drove the turbo and he didn't rate it at all (currently has a E55 Estate) he didn't see the point and most things were options

Is this the GTS??

Jon,

This is my mates blog, read his report on the one he drove above...

I know its a porsche but 'that' front still not sure. It needs the right wheels to make it look anything like. The colour in that Picture isn't a good advertisment for it...

To me the VW is a much nicer front (as in this R50)

I guess its the Porsche bit that sways the decision but......I'm still not so sure. Its not even nice ugly, you know some cars are ugly but in a good way??? if you know what I mean. Sort of Z3 breadvan type thing..its not pretty but it is ?? (not sure I'm making sence, I am in my own head but I'm on the beers...)

:) :)

thanks for that link just read it    11.mpg (itwas the 4.8) makes me wonder if just to wait for the new gl  regards jon

The GL doesn't really make sense....the Porsche is just plain stupid! Keep the GL!!!

Better yet, if you feel the need to spend the money, send it to me. I promise I will have a fantastic year on it and send you postcards every week from destinations around the world.... :D

I had a Cayenne for six months last year, I couldnt wait to get rid of it, I hated the ride on 20" alloys, the stupid tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel, that made you change gear, as you turn corners.:(

Stick with the GL.

We went to the launch of the facelift Cayenne. They made a lot of fuss about the fact that so much was new, it was pretty much a new generation of car, not just a facelift. Great bash too. ;)

I really want to have a Porsche but for some reason someone is conspiring against me. I tried to buy a Cayenne from Sutton Coldfield but they ignored me twice (bought the ML). I tried to buy a 996 from Sutton Coldfield but they ignored me twice more (bought the AMG).

One of the AMG instructors suggested I'd get a different reaction at Solihull - and we did. The 997 gives me hip/back ache. Mrs D and I were both disappointed with the demo facelift Cayenne - nice car, just not as nice to drive as the ML/GL.

And despite my best efforts in January, I couldn't get Sutton Coldfield to let me have a go in one at the weekend or overnight to see if I'd have the same hip/back ache.

Worth trying Solihull for the sake of a few miles further in my experience. ;)
