This is ridiculous!

And surely adding bodykit will blunt the standard cars performance by adding weight, so it's doing the opposite of what AMG stand for

If anything, AMG bumpers are lighter then the orignals (W202s in this case)

my point of thread was to fllow on about fake amg badges.... simply.. fake badge on the wrong way round.

amg badges on cars that dnt look the part just lok stupid.. but amg badge on non amg cars with appropriate kit etc is not really a prob...

just put only the amg part, not the amg size... as that just makes yur **** smaller lol

Don't like it - don't see the point - but don't think it does any harm... would like to meet him at the lights though. Then he'd understand what he's missing...

Well that would make more sense. I wonder what the weight difference of full AMG bodykit and wheels versus non AMG is, and therefore standard v kitted performance?

Engine would be the most important factor for me.

Well, yes, it's just daft.

They could have at least put the badges on the correct side.

Or...

As in the OP picture. They are German design, where they drive on the right, therefore, normally, the AMG badge is on the nearside and the model version is on the offside . Here we drive on the left and the AMG badging is on the offside, so technically the owner has swapped the badging over to RHD as per the original German design dictates :D

Same in every country ;)

I don't see what all the fuss is about. If someone wants to spend their money making a car look like something else, its their choice not mine. I'd rather spend my money on the real thing, but to each their own.

Mines a Proper AMG and its debadged - thats the way I like it.
Go figure....

To be honest, and I'm sure I said it before somewhere, but I just don't get this need to make out that what you drive is something else, when in reality it is completely different. :dk: I can understand debadging, but not the other way around.

Anyone who knows their Mercs will know immediately, and for those who aren't that familiar with the marque, the truth will come out sooner or later and the perpetrator will look a complete knob. JMHO of course.

That said non MB Garages are the worst in my view for advertising such and such as an AMG when clearly its not. I've seen more SLK320AMGs and 230AMGs that I reckon its more than doubled the volume of genuine AMG cars actually manufactured. It just staggers the imagination. :dk:
What’s wrong with driving a standard MB  Nothing in my book. :) I was very happy in my first SLK230 Kompressor, and had a total blast and many fond memories the two years I had it, before taking delivery of my 32amg in 2002.:)

Oh well guess it takes all sorts - c'est la vie

bashy09 if your talking about the mk1/2/3 golf then yes some on has painted the I red. but i its was a mk4 the the red I means it a 20v turbo the mk4's without the red I are just 4 pot 20v's with no turbo

Does it really matter what other people do with their cars? As long as it's not harming anyone else!

^^^^ I suggest you don't look at "fake" AMG's in future, it won't offend your eyes than.

thats what i meant chris...i had the 2.0 gti...so having red eye on it was very silly.not as bad as my a3 with an s3 badge on it when it was clearly not.that came straight off.

it is a matter of preference and opinion but i think u need to have an amg engine rather than just having the kit...thats what makes sense to me.

The only AMG badge I have is on the grill of the W203. The car hasn't got anything remotley AMG on it, yet. It's just me being silly. I don't care though. Look's kind of cool.

Feast your eyes people, Possibly a new mini Mercedes AMG ??
