After staring at my wheels for the last two months I thought it about time to clean them properly

The menu for the day was:-

Jack front corner up
remove wheel and put axle stand in position -- just in case
soapy water and rinse on the arch liners
splash of Quick Detailer around the wheel arch area and suspension and then buff up
take wheel outside and spray all over both sides with Megs Hot rims
agitate with wheel brush in all the nooks and crannies from both sides, also brushing the tyre
Rinse off with hose
Dry wheel and tyre with air compressor and fluffy mf cloth
take wheel back in garage (in dry as pi$$ing down all day)
Clay bar with QD, amazing how rough the inside of the rim was, silky smooth afterwards
Clay the brake disc centre hub and also caliper
Apply Megs Deep Crystal polish to both sides and all the spokes of wheel, centre hub and calliper
leave to dry and have COFFEE
buff all the polish residue off with MF cloths
Apply megs Deep Crystal wax to both sides and all the spokes of wheel, centre hub and calliper
leave to dry and have COFFEE
Buff off residue again, can now see my face in the reflection on the wheels (not a pretty sight)
Apply Megs Hot shine to both sides of the tyre and then buff off as I do not like the tyres to look tooo shiny
Give calliper and hub another quick buff
Replace wheel and correctly torque my nuts
Lower the car to the ground, step back and admire the work
Then repeat all the above for the rear wheel

Give up for day as knees hurting, being an oldie!!!

Day 2
rushed outside before the rain clouds arrived, disconnect C-Tek, take car cover off, back car out, then back car in garage to get access to the other two wheels
repeat as Day 1

Each wheel took about 1.5 hours to do.

Really really pleased with the result, would have ceramic coated the wheels but did not have any available when I decided to do it
Hopefully the wheels will now have a degree of "self cleaning" in rainy conditions and should only need Snow foam and jet wash to look all shiny for the next 6 months
bring on some sunny days out!!!!

Nice work. They look like new:thumb:

I might even have the inspiration to tackle mine ......soon.

Amazing 🤩 when I had my AMG it got a fibre mitt with soapy water followed by a chamois leather , was obviously doing it wrong.😂

Very nice work there well done lovely pictures, i did mine recently and am hoping not to do again as I can sympthatise as everything was aching afterwards for sure!! I sealed mine with poorboys wheel sealant and thankfully for now still look as good as when I did them with a bit of washing with a jet wash and wheel cleaner

Great work buddy, they look fantastic dude.

Garage therapy wheel shampoo or P&s Brake Buster is great for maintaining them from now on, both are great products as you'll notice you won't need anything stronger than that

I have no affiliation with Megs, I am now an old retired git who has no intention of working again (except for SWMBO list)
A lot of people like to know what you use to do your detailing so I thought I would say. I have used Megs for years now and it does me and is good value for money

FYI the car is PPFed and ceramic coated with G Techniq all done by Topaz, and I also have a selection of BH products lol

kcsun, Where did you get that green brush for cleaning in the barrels. I bought a cheapo one which I used this morning, & it fell apart. Buy cheap, buy twice, keep forgetting:wallbash:
Nice job, wheels look good. I ceramic coated mine & have carbon ceramic pads (no dust). The brush is for my Range Rover as the wheels weigh a ton & its too much bother removing them. Actually its the replacing them that's Murder when old age catches up:(

It was a halfrauds special lol. Works well though, been using it for at least 3 years
