Thoughts on extended warranty for C63?

Warranty on my 2013 C63 is coming to an end in a couple of days and was wondering how many of you opted to for the extended warranty?

MB is quoting £1,293 for tier 1 with no excess (£980 with £250 excess).

Given that I don't put on a lot of milege on the car (<3,000 miles in 8 months) and the fact that I probably will sell the car next year to move overseas, I'm thinking I should just wing it without warranty?

Any thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated.

I'm inclined to not bother and save the money. C63 generally seems a reliable car.

I received a letter from MB with login details to obtain a quote online.

I'm also leaning towards not getting it. £1k seems like a lot of money and unless something really big breaks, it's probably not going to be worth it.

The c63 is generally pretty much bullet proof i would not bother to renew.

Keejoonc I'm in the same position as you and I think I will be taking this out at least for the next 12 months but then I will likely take a view on it. Doing few miles as well but the car is fairly new to me hence my consideration. Had I had the car for 3 years with no issues maybe I would have just left it.

I rang rac warranty I am paying £24 a month that covers most thinks including sat nav for my c350 61 plate

From my limited knowledge but that seems high, was offered an additional year from a main dealer for around £475 albeit they made it a part of the deal so was free in the end

I gather that was when you purchased your car though?
As far I know around £1k a year is standard price when you renew it before the existing warranty expires.
Apparently, it's double this amount if you try to get warranty after the existing warranty expires.

I've only had the car since February and mine is a September 2013 model but as I bought it from MB I still have warranty coverage until next year.

I managed to haggle an extra 2 years MB warranty when I picked up my 2013 C63 last week. Extended warranty has saved me a small fortune in the past (Evo X), I'm all for it and you've got some piece of mind. Having said that, £1000 per year seems high. What about getting a quote from Warrant Direct, they seem to have a good rep!

Hi mine was due in February and I got quoted around the £1000 mark and the car has only done 19000 miles, so decided not to bother,fingers crossed.
My brother has a V8 2008 M3 with 50000 miles and got his for £600 through BMW with a £250 excess and apparently BMW and Mercedes use the same warranty company for there warranty's, so why are the Mercedes warranty's more costly? is it because they pay out on more claims on Mercedes cars than BMW cars??

MB of Lincoln quoted me £1800 for a 2 year warranty, they would not budge on this.
I decided not go with it as it as i was already paying £45 per month for the service contract, adding this soon made owning the car unrealistic for me.
As the car is serviced by MB i get free breakdown cover as standard, something i did not know until last year, i think they should extend this to a discount on a warranty in my opinion, it would back / build up their reliability reputation no end.

I wouldn't bother. Just enjoy the car
