Jeez you would have thought for that money they would have cleaned it lol,

A chap called Elliot bought one last year for £16,500 i believe it was which had only covered low 40k's

19k is alot for a 55k which doesn't look that special imho

Thats way out IMHO - especially from all the E55 i've been looking at recently - i think some private sellers dont bother to do much homework when it comes to putting them online , until they get no interest - or they are just chancing thier luck ;-)

Lol £20k!

Bargain.

Expecting far too much for it. Nice as it is, I don’t see anyone paying more than £14k for it, get a nice E63 for less.

Hope for mine though [emoji106]

Only viewed on my phone, but looks a nice car and low mileage. Fairly basic spec I guess as not got keyless or vented seats and also only does 160mph:D

To me it just needs the right buyer. Yes you could get an E63 for less, but only if you'd prefer an E63 over an E55. I for one wouldn't whether that be a 211 or 212 E63. All down to personal preference, but agree most would probably disagree with me and want a newer car.

On your side there, I chose my 55 over the 63. I just preferred the instant power of the supercharger.

Still can’t see anyone paying the asking price though, perhaps they will become future classics and rise in price, who knows eh.
I’ll just enjoy mine

Seller lives in Beaconsfield (just up the road from me), and that's probably his drive, so his house is probably quite valuable, and he may have valued the car from the (often ludicrous) asking prices on specialist websites. He obviously has no idea of the real value of the car, but either reality will intrude, or it will be on sale for a long time, or possibly another buyer who is equally deluded will come along and pay the asking price.

The problem is that he's working on it being a nice, well maintained car with low miles. All the things you'd want if you were looking. But at that price (or rather lower) the only person looking is going to have already experienced the whole raft of amg e classes and as decided, as lots have, that the 55 is their choice. So they will watch and wait for the few low mileage "mint" cars to come up. But any prospective purchaser is going to know the market and the cars. They will want a better spec, lots are, and a more realistic price which will still be a premium for the car over normal market value for normal cars.
It may attract enough interest for a viewing but I think the asking price is going to have to drop. Alot.
I love mine, its the best car I've had but even for the best example I don't think I'd get anywhere near the asking. £14 maybe, just maybe?

I sold a 42k very very tidy low spec e55 saloon a year ago for £13750.

I'll give you, not £14, but a whole £15 for it. Can't say fairer than that....:D

for £20k he could have got some proper mats for it!

you add a grand for a Estate

I'd say like for like estates would typically command more than a grand over saloons. Obviously depending on condition and spec etc, but I'd say around 15% increase.

Last year a immaculate black 40k summit 7 seater estate went for 16.5k, I’d say that was the limit for a s211 imho. 19k his dreaming lol
