Time for a C32?

i think its about time i changed from the C43 to the C32... any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated

The C32s are at a very tempting price range these days, I don't know what reliability is like on the 32 but I've never heard any real horror stories about the 43.

I'm sure someone with first hand experience will be along soon, good luck.

I've sat in the 32 and the 43 (friend has a 32 and i test drove a 43 when i was thinking of buying one). The 32 definately has more torque and feels alot more lively... and has a much nicer cabin (more modern) but i've never liked W203's... 202's all the way (and your car sounds 10 times better then a 32 ever will).

Personally I'm waiting for C55's to depreciate a bit more before changing... although by then I'll probably already have an eye on C63's depreciation.

Nothing wrong with a C32, I just like the sound of a V8 a bit too much.

Well Ive just bought a C32 and am very happy with it.

Is there much diff in the petrol consumption between a c32 and c55
I get around 19-20mpg at the mo.

It all depends on how you drive it.

30mpg is achieveable on a 55.

Am i right in saying forced induction engines have better fuel consumption (when driven nicely) when compared to a much bigger engine? assuming their bhp figures are similar (which the 32 and 55 are).

I agree....well that's my experience anyway.

Just a thought, how about ZAS on an AMG V8?

That would be pretty impressive for performance and economy.

Can't be long before AMG have another look at diesels. They did a C30 CDI AMG in Europe. How about a bigger / badder varient of some model with a bored out / tuned 420 CDI (V8)

The standard 420 CDI has as much power as the AMG 4.3 V8 and shed loads more torque!

You would be far better off with a C55, as it is a facelift model that provides more options for retrofits and upgrades. Plus is once you have one it will be difficult to part with it. I don't think i can yet justify going to a C63.

V8 ... V6?

i love the sound of the V8.. nothing compares to it but also looking at my budget and cant really stretch as far as what the C55's are going for.. need to have a think and come with some funding options.. maybe even drive one or two.. stealerships look out!!!!

I'm biased as I have a C55 (that is also for sale) but I would say V8 all day long.

The sound is fantastic and fuel consumption isn't that bad (currently averaging 24mpg).

Not sure what sort of budget you've got but mine could be had for a little over £17k.

My suggestion would be drive both the c32 and c55 and then see what you think. You cant judge things before you've tried them for yourself, i always say.

Sounds like a very nice car and a decent price also.

It's amazing really that even in the last 12-18 months, prices of these cars have nearly halved. I remember when they first dipped below 20 grand, only about 2 years back?
