Timeless design?

Maffs picture in the logo thread really caught my eye.

Look at the picture below of the side of Maffs 2004 SL350.

Then compare it to the side of a 1954 Gullwing 300SL below and try and convince me that Mercedes don't design timeless machines.

They also used the fins on the 129 series "Silver Arrows" cars. A mod that i really wanna do on my car. But not sure if they would look good?
 
This is what I like about MB's

It's a design que from the past to strengthen product identity. Well, that's what the marketing folks say - Us ordinary people just think it looks great.

BMW are less subtle - ie the Z8 uh sorry 507.

Yes mercedes cars never seem to look out of date . just as well mine is nearly 16 years old. ;)
