im new here. first post. have been reading for a few days. like the forums quite informative.
just had a few questions. uncle has a merc c180 classic 1996 (P reg) it has 142k miles on the dial. just wondering when exactly the timing chain needs to be changed. the reason im asking this question is that when u try to accelerate the car makes a weird scratching sound. not always but most of the times and at low speeds.
plan to buy this car eventually or preferably a similar model (looking for a good c class sport). very interested in modding cars but have never tried it. i c there are many pros here. thanks for the help in advance. incidentally ive lived in dubai most of the times and maintaining cars there was not an issue. im new in london so will ask stupid questions most of the times. bear with me tho ill get the hang of it.
