How do I find if my car has had a timing chin replaced or if it needs one? It's done 114k

I haven't heard on any forum of the M156 63 engine having timing chain issues.
I'd expect a receipt for work done if yours has ever had the chain replaced.
Should last the lifetime of the engine IMO.

I have the W219 engine. Wasn't sure on the life of a chain especially on such a powerful engine

That is the CLS model number. The engine number if its a 6.2 litre is a M156.
The later 5.5 BiTurbo 63 engine is a M157.

I forget which engine but a while back it was known for timing chain issues. It was a single chain whereas nowadays a duplex chain is fitted.
I wouldn't worry, but ask your indy next service if you are worried.
It will rattle like hell if its stretched.

It's due a minor service soon. Don't get any rattle or noise from it. Just something someone asked me earlier and I could answer his question. Looked like a right tit

If the chain has been replaced I would expect it to have a split master link. The original would have been continuous.
