Is there a way of changing the front indicator bulbs on a R230 without removing:

a) the headlight units,
b) the brake cylinder system, or
c) hiring a small Japanese woman with tiny hands to reach in the narrow gaps and change the bulbs for me?

Help! :wallbash:

Like a lot of modern cars, I suspect that the dealers have some kind of special tool to remove these, specifically to avoid the problems you're encountering.
I had a similar problem with my last car (Volvo) and having already tried to remove the bulb holder without success, popped into the local dealer for a bulb (wink wink) and asked them the easiest way of replacing it........'I'll get one of the technicians to come and advise you sir'. So he appeared within two minutes, asked which bulb had blown, asked for the key, took it into the workshop and within a few minutes brought the car back out.......all done. Free of charge!!! Never did find out how he did it so easily.

Well, the idea was to replace them with either silver colour filament bulbs (to remove the fried egg look) or just fit LEDs.
Either way, it seems impossible to get to them :wallbash:

Heres Garry now.... Hes about to remove the wheeltrims from the S210, so that he can deal with the rust on the rear door and arches. If you are quick he will be able to help you with your bulbs. Years ago he worked in a Volvo dealership in Stourbrige but now works at a local MB dealership up your way. The reason he moved was the pay at Volvo was peanuts, things are much improved for him now- but hes always open to a little work on the side if you ask him nicely.
