Also, as part of my final checks, can anyone recommend the best site to use re HPi checks? It has been a while since I have needed to do one, and as much as one will be provided, I like to do my own.
As I waiting for the news tomorrow (today has been a very looooooong day ), I appreciate I may be jumping the gun, but just in preparation things go well, a little advice on services if I may.
Basically as mentioned previously it has a FMBSH, and the last service was a service A on 31-10-18 @ circa 57k, current mileage is circa 60k. It is due a B service next. later this year. I know it needs a brake fluid change (has been done every 2 years as per schedule) so my understanding is if I take out a service plan, it should be B,A,B and this would cover things like brake fluid changes and any other additional work?
I have never had a service plan before, as I use an indie but this seems like good value at £39 pm. Have i understood it correctly? There is no mention on the service record of any work been done except oil changes, spark plugs, and brake fluid changes. So at this moment n time I have no idea about the condition of brake discs etc, could they be on the originals at 60k miles? Would they be covered under the service plan?
Roll on tomorrow!
and the discs were ok
Are they willing to fix the defects to your satisfaction?
If not, and as much as you’re desperate to buy this car, the red signals are getting louder and louder pal. Now you’ve had a bit of time for the buzz to wear off, do you still really *really* want it?
I’ll spin it both ways for you -Lee, genuinely I am torn (or stupid), I do really want it because of the unicorn spec! If they had put new discs and pads all round and the shocks were not leaking, sorted the scuff, stuck another £500 - £1000 on the screen price, I would have bought it!
So because they haven't 'prepped it' and I have had a proper inspection carried out, does it look worse than it is or am I trying to convince myself into buying it! At the end of the day, it wouldn't take much to make it a minter again.
I’ll spin it both ways for you -
1. It’s a 20% overpriced car, with an engine that no-one wanted, that needs about a grand spending on it.
2. It’s a rare car with a rare spec.
That any help
