I had my C63 debadged, I thought it looked cleaner and I don't like badges on the front wings unless they are yellow with a horse.

You would be surprised how many people did not clock what it was despite the brakes and exhaust.

I thought the E63 actually comes in a 'business edition' which has 2 single exhausts and less body kit to look like a non-AMG car, so I guess it is popular or else they would not offer it.

S

I've heard of this before but can't remember which car it was for.

I think you will all agree whether you want to keep the badge or not it is ok for a Mercedes but not when you want to badge another car...

I can see why people would want to remove the badges but I just can't see why they would.
The C63 attracts all the right attention but in the wrong place at the wrong time it's going to attract all the wrong attention.

Thing is if somebody is out to steal a C63 they know exactly what the car looks like. Removing the badges isn't going to deter them.

I removed the rear badges from my estate when I had some work done. I never intended to re-fit them and it has remained that way. I'm not trying to hide what the car is I just prefer it the cleaner look. My car still has the side badges though so I have a mix.

If I'm being totally honest, when I get remarks whilst the car is parked, I enjoy it and it's the badges that draw the remarks.

Just before I sold the last one a guy in his forties approached me...

Excuse me mate, is that really a 6.3 litre?

Yes I replied (you get fed up of explaining the 6.2 bit).

F00kin 'ell he replied, what a mota.

Call me shallow, but it felt good...:D

I think you would be telling porkies if that wasn't the case.
I remember the first time, I was exiting a service station after paying and a guy with a Boxter filling up opposite me just said "Nice car". I thanked him, but that is the first time anyone had complemented me on any car I'd owned.
It did feel good.:D
For me, the badges save having to tell anyone what the car is.

I'm replacing my silver E350 BT with a black E63 next month and am toying with replacing the E63 badges with E350 BT.... Just to put the local scrotes off the scent a bit ... Which is fine until I start her up

NEVER De badge a flagship model. Wear with pride.

Most cars that are debadged seem to be crappy diesel versions, ie 320d's with M badges put on after.

I do like the clean look but like earlier posts I like it when people comment and i only have a c350.

Most but not all. :D

Easy to clean, no bits of rag/microfibre left in badges and a nice anonymous smooth look. ;)

I've debadged the 7. Infact it got debadged the day it got delivered.

I know some people would disagree but I wanted the anonymous smooth look.

Looks nice and clean now.

It's perfectly OK to debadge, or leave the original badges on, whether an AMG, or a "crappy" diesel (I own a diesel, and it's anything but "crappy").

What's absolutely not OK, is to put the wrong badges on a car - AMG on a non-AMG makes you look a fool, and IMHO putting non-AMG badges on an AMG is even worse.

As for Scrotes, the C63 is well within their reach now, as evidenced by the idiot who undertook a line of cars doing well over 100mph on the M2 yesterday... W@nker.

Many years ago I had an Audi a4 2.8 Quattro Avant - I had it factory debadged and then I removed the Quattro badges.
just sold my Obsidian Black W204 E220cdi AMG Sport. I removed the bootlid badges for a cleaner look when I bought it.
Just bought an E250 CDi sport cabriolet which was factory debadged .Again the bootlid looks nice and plain (apart from the odd sharkfin antenna). The car in Tenorite grey looks great.

Like I'm taking this off .

I blame that Dave fella for all this badge depilation.

De-badge all the way. To me it's like wearing a Kiton K-50 suit and having the labels stitched on the outside.

Those who know, know. Those who don't, don't give a feck what it is.

In fact, the next E-Class AMG I buy I'm going to badge it up as a 200 CDI.

This. And what I say all the time. 99% haven't a clue what it is anyway, the remainder don't need a badge to tell them.
