Hi All,

I hope you don't mind this question, I just sold my Cherished W211 Silver E320 CDi, that lasted me 13 years. and Upgraded to a E350 CDI (the 2 Door Couple AMG styled version) with a glass panoramic Roof, She looks the business. She's white at the moment, I have found a Vinyl wrapping company not to far from me. and have all kinds of gallery pics. they are reputable. so I was wondering about getting the car Wrapped.

Do you (anyone) have any experiences with having Cars Vinyl Wrapped? after this was applied am thinking of getting lifetime coated / protected. with a Ceramic Nano Coat.

In honesty I love the white already. so might just keep and get Ceramic also. What are your thoughts please?

I’ve never seen a car wrapped that I didn’t identify as wrapped within about 30 seconds. Especially if they were wrapped a few months ago.
Its your choice, and your money, quite a lot of it from what I hear. Adds zero value to the car.

If you love the white already then I wouldn’t do it. As said, it never looks perfect close up and assuming you ever want to remove it you can run into issues with older cars which may have had paint repairs before you bought it. You can end up with paint peeling on removal especially on bumpers etc if they have been repainted in the past.

I think it would be worth it if you really hated the current colour but I wouldn’t bother if you just fancy a change for changes sake. Expensive, can look a bit naff after a while and potential removal issues on a car which would don’t know the full paint history of.

Your White C207 looks stunning already,
(Slightly biased  ) leave it as it is, or if you want to give it a refresh, perhaps a nice subtle boot spoiler, a Panamerica or Black grill and Silver wheels, only my opinion of course. :) 👍
If you do decide to go for a Wrap, please not the Gold.

Get your car to Topaz, keep it white, level 3 detail, ceramic coating and PPF on the front

This is a C63 they did last week...

Then get a deckchair, sit outside with a beer and soak it all up

Excellent quality work but a Topaz level 3 detail, PPF and ceramic coating might be cost prohibitive on anything other than cars which are already close to perfect, and very special to the owner.

Given that the OP has just bought it and is thinking of wrapping it makes me think this would be like suggesting he competes in the Olympics when he’s just bought a pair of trainers to go jogging around the park.

That’s a really lovely car, congratulations!

If you love white then I would stick with it. I don’t think it would suit a razzmatazz wrap and it you planned to wrap it a regular colour then you might be better off buying one in that colour from the factory.

Great colour choice. Stick with the white.

Seems like you keep your cars a long time and

1) The wrap might not last as long as you keep the car

2) They use very sharp knives when installing the wrap and I’m still not convinced that all “wrappers” are so skilled that they will not cut the paint when cutting through 5/1000” thick vinyl. There is a knifeless system available, but it will be more expensive, take longer to do and I doubt there are many companies that use it.

3) If your car gets dinged, that panel will need a new wrap and I’ll give you £1-00 to a pinch of **** that they will not get a proper colour match in the vinyl (unless it happens very shortly after you had the wrap done).

Definitely keep it white lovely colour some cars suit wrap but i don't think that will as mentioned above ceramic coat it and enjoy 😉

By the time you've washed it 5 or 6 times the wrap will start to fail, it's VERY thin and will wear through, sorry.

That’s not true… I’ve seen cars wrapped 3 years ago that still look fine… very much dependent on the quality of vinyl & how you care for it…

What does that (level 3 detail, ceramic coating and PPF on the front) cost?
What I was trying to suggest to the OP that by having a pro detail will make the original paint look its best which will be 100 times better than a wrap

here is a link to Topaz's pricing

kc
From £1200 + VAT Level 3 detail
From £1500 + VAT Front-end PPF
From £600 + VAT Ceramic coating
So from £4000 in total

I suspect the E-class will be consider a mwdium or large car and so the cost could greater than the minimum “from” price list published on the Topaz website. I dare say it will end up being closer to £4500.

It will be a top quality job though.

Yep, but 4 and a half grand!
