So, after endless searching of what small(ish) car to get, and test driving the M3, SLK55 (thanks Scumbag!) CLK500 etc yesterday I picked up my new car :D

Yep, its a FORD!

Really was an offer that I could not mis, and seeing as pressure was bowing from her indoors, I couldn't really refuse.

So I've kept the RR Sport, and added this to the collection:

Ford Fiesta Ghia
- Full Leather
- CD Changer
- Air Con
- 5 Door
- 6 Months Old
- Only 1000 miles on clock

The price new £12,700, this car, 6 months old with 1000 miles £6000 !!!

Not very Evo, but very sensible

Anyway, thought i'd let you know, even though its not me :D

Maff you need to see a doctor! You have only spent 4 figures :D

Quick go and sit down. :p

Thats a bargain! Atleast you kept the RR which means you should NEVER have to drive the Fiesta ;)

Good deal, from a Ford dealer or where?

What engine size? Can you handle it LOL?

I actually used to really enjoy ragging my (now ex's) Fiesta Zetec around. As long as you were only popping up the shops or into town it was much easier than taking a big car and you can try your best to get it on 3 wheels on roundabouts!

Brilliant eye for a bargain Maff ,might we ask where you bought it I mean Dealer , ford dealer or private?

Steve

Was from a dealer, but not Fords.

It's the 1.4 Zetec from memory, although not driven it yet, but will have a drive when I get chance!

Just got to sort out what we do with her Ford Ka now! (probably end up keeping that as well, but Fiesta is just that little bit bigger and more useable!)

Sounds like a perfectly good little car! I think its quite healthy to drive something completely different every once in a while. Makes you appreciate the virtues of your chosen beast that bit more.

what can i say.......

nugget springs to mind.

still, a little story. I had a FORD once. it was a Puma 1.7vct. got it new in the May of 98 having waited 6months for it.

November of 98 all Puma's vct's were recalled due to a possible failure of the brake master cylinder. first week of Dec i got a focus for a week, they held up the puma brake change to await the delivery of a focus just for me. they were new then!.

had the focus a week.

January 99, the brakes on the PUMA packed in. due to a faulty master cylinder. the one they had changed. the one with the modification that meant it didnt fail....ford..Fixed Or Repaired Daily.

will never have a ford again..ever.

Still got a SLK to sell. but will keep it until May now, as by then you will have off loaded the range rover, will be fed up with the Ford, and will wish you could hear the engine in the CL65. so i can help you out in a few months time.

Loony......

in fact. i insist you drive the SLK again in Feb. just to realise what you have missed out on...

on 2nds thoughts....it mite be worth keeping the SLK just to annoy you!!!!!

Dont Ford drivers shop at Morrisons?

:) :)

( Parents had 2 fiesta's, they were the best cars they ever had until the new shape one came out, they didnt like it and plumped for a new Skoda Octavia TD auto.)

We had from 1980~1995:

* 2 Cortinas
* 3 Sierras (all different revisions)
* 1 Sapphire
* 2 Escorts

All have been perfect.

Agree 100%
1 cortina
2 escorts
1 sierra
1 mondeo

All never gave me 1 day of trouble and cost the least to run of any cars I have owned.

Nice one Matt .... those heated windscreens are great - had one on my 'F' reg Escort Ghia - was Brill !!

My father's Renault Laguna has got one .. that's about the only other car I've seen it on, although I'm sure there are some others ... (shame its a Renault!!)

1 J reg Ford Escort 1 blown engine 12months into ownership, new engine fitted and promptly sold. However the heated front screen was a top piece of kit.

67,000 miles in an Escort in 12 months.

Never let me down once.

One the day I left the job, and was due to give the car back, I stuffed it into a kerb at 4mph on thick ice. The wheel fell off.

Was so pleased with it, we bought my missus one. She had it three years, with no trouble at all. In fact, we still regularly see that car around Cov, and it's 12 or 13 years old now....

im sure the occaisional potter around in the f**d at snails pace will only serve to re-assure the only righteous verdict, that is - keep the cl65 :D

I had one of them, until last year. Only problem with it I kept knocking it into limp home mode but that is reset by pulling over taking the key out and restarting it, but I could not live with it happened nearly every day on the same junction (my wife said I could just try to take the corner slower), and I have to say nice car for ragging around and a nice dashboard layout too, rubbish boot though I could only just get the pram in it and then no room for shopping unlike my 307 that has a huge boot and not a much bigger car.

incredible deal ... less than half price for a 6 month old car with 1k miles!!!
