Tomtom IQ routes

I bought a Tomtom GO 550 Live. Do you have to switch the lane guidance on, went to the metrocentre via the A1 hoping to see lane guidance on the tomtom but it looks no different to my old tomtom. how do i get it to look this, can anybody help

Mine (720 LIVE) is on by defualt. But to turn mine on/off:

Touch screen - Change Preferences - Hide/Show lane images (screen 3 of 8)

Thanks, mine only has 7 of 7, on 7 of 7 is advanced preference, then 2 of 2 show lane images, which is ticked. does yours show lane guidance on any road or just motorways.

IIRC just motorways and their slip roads. I'll be using it again next week, so I'll try to remember.

and some other major roads IIRC, it looks good, but can be a bit of a problem when the next turn is just after the last lane guidance as you cant see it until lane guidance is off again, so can find yourself in the wrong lane. I turned it off on my tom
