Oh No. Shock horror. Now the BBC has admitted that the Learner Driver scenes were all staged with the instructors being asked/booked well in advance and told what to do.

Does it really matter ? It was good TV.

And apparently filmed in 2009. But the bit with the schoolkids mobbing the car was for real.
