I know I've raved about Tony Purslows in Basingstoke over the past few months and the absolutely fantastic service they give.
Well .....
Left home this morning to drive to work as usual. Noted that there was a pecualir feel with the steering - it was like I was driving on 2 wheels. I pulled into a garage a mile up the road expecting to see 2 flat or semi-flat tyres .... but nope - they were perfect. I could not see anything else obvious, so I drove slowly to work (which was well dodgy I have to confess).
Anyhow thinking about it I thought I'd stop off at Purslows and see if someone could just have a quick shify at it, see what might be wrong, and I'd get it fixed another day/elsewhere.
Receptionist (K hummmm) said they would try, but couldn't promise anything as they were mega-maxed out today. I was happy to leave the car there and walked the 10 mins to work.
Got a phone call at 4:30 today .... along the lines of ....
"Well, we've all checked it over - the suspension, etc is all AOK. The only problem we could find was the steering damper was well past it and had to have to a new one. So we fitted that, road tested it, re-checked the car and it's ready for you."
So, £60 later it almost drove like a brand new car (all I need now are new font tyres/alloys).
So MAJOR hats off to Purslows and their fantastic service. Long may it continue.
And I had a nice chat with one of the managers afters. AND he apologise most profusely for not having had the car valeted!
I really cannot fault them (yet again).
Purslows ROCK.

P.S. - I don't work for Purslows, have any association with them whatsoever, except as a customer, but they're still cool.
P.P.S. Hurrah for Purslows.:bannana:
