It's at St Maarten, in the Caribbean. There's a great beach bar where you can sit with a pint and watch...
The local kids hang by their fingers off the fence when a Jumbo is getting ready for take-off, and let the jet engines blow them off the fence!
The airport at Lanzarote isn't much better, but there is no road, just beach.

I couldn't sit there and watch, questions like "what if the pilot gets it wrong" and "what if the plane breaks" etc all would flash through my mind. I don't like flying at the best of time, and generally see it as something to be avoided, so wouldn't spend my holidays looking at the things land (or claiming my holiday Medical insurance if it landed ontop of me)
