Took C43 for check over today

As some may know i bought a C43 last wednesday.

I dropped the car off today at a time served merc specialist who has had a C36 and owned a E55, for a gearbox oil and filter change, oil and oil filter change, plus general check over.

I asked for it to be put on the Star system too.

He reported the following: -

a faulty alarm siren
wiper motor fault, but it still works, but does not go in-out - can live with that
Auto wiper motor failure
lower ball joints - replaced
anti roll bar bushes - replaced
Front side light bulbs - replaced
Changed indicator bulbs to orange from white
Pollen filter changed.
Backing plate from the Diff and will replace side seals too. Lower on fluid too.
Needs tyres soon - will give a try VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA

He reported that underneath is as solid as he has seen, with no rust, fuel and brake lines solid too. Just rust by the fuel tank, but said this was common.

I am very pleased with the condition and over the moon.

wiper motor fault is very common on W202's. Open it up and apply some grease and job done. I think someone wrote a tutorial for it on this forum that's very easy to follow.

Needs tyres soon will be very common too, having 2 new rears fitted tomorrow on mine.

I had a long chat and he came across genuine.

I put a deposit and cheked the car over before agreeing the deal. I was prepared to walk away if it was a dog, but felt right to.

The jewel in the crown turned up today. The full service history of my car. MB service from 1998 to 2004 and then specialists thereafter.

Called MB Chelsea who serviced the car 4 times are sending out the complete service carried out on the car.

What a result, well chuffed, specially after the comments of the mechanic.
