Hi all.
How you keeping.?

Can I ask please.

In the garage (at the parents, carpark). We have a nice few tools.

I was doing a job .. changing the anti roll bar linkage.
It was 18mm ring spanner & a thorx to hold the ball joint from turning.
As you know they can be a pain & if the holder slips... We've had trouble in the past on BMW & Merc .
My asking is ...
Do you know of any places or brands that sell socket set or individual sockets that have a spanner head on.
Like the go / pass though socket.

I seen a few multi spine, but I'd prefer 6 point, better fit, & 1/2 inch.

Crows feet are quite good but then they can be quite a bulky tool to get in places.

Thanks folk.

You mean like this ?

Morning both / all.
Back to the good old summer rain 🙄🙂.

Yes, we got crow feet w1ghty, & a few ratchet spanners petrol Pete.
The 1' we have are to heavy thick metal & can obstruct the amount of space to put them in. The spanners are good, but again didn't give me enough leverage (bolt is tight), got it in the end.

We have a few of the sockets (& the 6 point kind) that have the 6 point spanner head (where 1 would put the ratchet connection).
I looked online to buy a set & couldn't find any.
Probably just me with the dirt on my glasses 🙂.
So thought Id ask you folk.

Thanks both / all.

Have good week.

Aliexpress

Something like this
AP03 18Pcs Steering Hub Suspension Shock Absorber Strut Nut Removal Tool Socket Set for VW Ford Honda/Nissan etc. - AliExpress

They are generally listed as suspension or hub socket sets. And if you scroll down and look at the similar items at the bottom, I often find these are a better way of seeing what sort of thing is available, rather than searching directly which can be less reliable than looking at 'similar items' for some reason.

Look for one with the correct sizes you need, both with the socket and the torx pieces. The ratchet provided goes around the outside of the sockets provided, and you use a separate square ratchet that you own to drive the torx bits.

Halfords , I'm fairly sure , do a socket set which allows rod to be passed through .

Just looked ; I'm sure they previously did one of their own brand 'Advanced' pass through socket sets , but the one pass through set they now offer does not have an 18mm socket in it !

They do offer a singular 18mm ratchet spanner , at an impressive price !

Or they do a set of ratchet spanners , similar to the ones I have , although my older set does not include 18mm , but the one below does .

Hi folk.
Thanks for the links.

I just seen this online & it's b&q shop selling Nielsen. We have a few things from this brand & they not bad. Decent tool for decent price.

Like I say..w204 ... Any of you folk changed the anti roll bar linkage.. the 1 I just did had the 18 mm nut & the throx like alien key to stop the thing from turning. But flip was it tight & only a small pinch of a turn at a time, didn't think I was going to be able.
A go through tool like a spark plug socket or like the above would make the job 100 tine easier.

Thanks folk.

This has been my 'go to' for some stubborn stuff , I also have a Dremel and air driven off cut tool . Messy and potentially dangerous in the wrong hands but does the trick

Not particularly helpful, but this thread reminded me of a ‘through type’ tool I had years ago for setting the valve clearances on my Frogeye Sprite (A-series engine)
