I dont know about you, but IMHO Mr Clarkson could have made this enjoyable and fun to watch. As it is, its just another report no better or worse that 5th Gear might do.

No.....actually it is worse......

Awesome car though............

And if you really want a good belly laugh - join the action at about 6.55 to hear somebody try to do a funny Ausy Stig introduction........about as amusing as Giles Brandreth in panto.

I also cringe every time 5th gear make a Top Gear rip-off comment. A few weeks ago they introduced a 'Stag' test driver, FFS why do they bother!
Imitation is flattery, but when done this badly it's humiliating.

If someone can just teach him to pronounce Mercedes properly... oh and grow a foot or so he might be worth listening to.

The repeat Top Gear episode that was shown on Sunday actually had Clarkson driving the CLK63Black. Such a hardcore car, ESP light flashing on and off constantly even on straights.

Clarkson under attack again

"Oxford sociology and women’s studies tutor Dr Louise Livesey said the show’s production team has a strong “boys’ club” atmosphere, along with fewer female than male guests.
While Dr Livesey described Top Gear as offering only “entrenched, institutional sexism,” Executive Producer Andy Wilman felt – unsurprisingly – otherwise.
If the show is allegedly female-unfriendly, why is almost half the audience female?
Secondly, if we are to have a female presenter just to represent the sexes, then by that logic Loose Women needs a bloke in the line-up pretty sharpish.
I actually believe these sorts of mandates are patronising to women viewers, because they assume that women can’t enjoy a show’s presenters on merit, but can only appreciate a programme if spoken to by one of their own sex.
If it does come to the team taking on a female presenter, perhaps the boys can entice Vicky Butler-Henderson to defect, or Germany’s gun Sabine Schmidt…"

Excellent demonstration of TG's production values and JC's skills as a TV motoring journalist.

The Australian version was just, astonishingly: w e t

My vote goes with Sabine. Pity that she doesn't appear on TG more often. You get the feeling she can stand up properly to the blokey aspect of the show without making a fool of herself.

Personally, I'd like to see Sabine as the "Star in a car"........If only to beat Jay Kay and Simon Cowell.....

There must be hundreds of thousands of ordinary motorists out there that could beat those two bigheads easily. They are only there because of the sizes of their wallets - not for their skill or prowess behind the wheel.

What I would really like to see is the WHOLE lap - not just the few seconds of edited highlights we get to see.
My favourtite star in a car was Michael Gambon. He struck me as a really nice guy with no illusions or need to prove his skill - or lack of. And genuinely funny to boot.
One of the most cringeworthy was Jay Kay. His ego was so large I am surprised they managed to get him in the hanger.
