Ive decided I fancy a go in a reasonably priced car (or not  ) on the TG track (think American Stig with less talent) do any board sages know if you can have a go at the top gear track and if so who organises it

If its do-able how about a group buy and a few of us go down ?

Dave

If you can arrange it, I'd be interested.

Think American Stig for me too..... but not so slim.........

.

Yay we could travel down together - I get 18mpg on a run :) with two KFC fans onboard I bet nearer 12mpg LOL

ill come for a laugh , should be a good day out are we camping the night before lol,

Hi Dave - yes Plan Motorsport who look after and fettle Lotus cars on site can arrange it. The link is http://www.plansmotorsport.com/track/

I did it some time ago. I got about 8 laps and then a flying lap they time. It's really annoying because you know you could do better!

Me? Well 1.35.8 which I felt was okay(ish) but you can always do better .....

They even put your time on the wall :bannana:

Thanks Peter, I`ll give them a shout on fri. I was hoping we could do it in a Suzuki to eliminate the car factor from the driver skill set.

Sounds like fun  could be interested dependant on date/price/availability etc :)

Will

My wife is running it on Sunday in the Dunsfold 10k..... its really only an old airfield. I'd much rather drive the old Brooklands track but Tesco's cut out a section - *******s.

not a track id like to do

or is it because its the top gear track which would make it better

id like to do the daytona track in mine

I see the TG track as a test of driver skill especially in a reasonably priced car, far more fun than a real race track in their own car which anyone can do any day of the week. Ive long since grown out of the Palmer type corp day out / drive your daily driver round type day its too samy (great fun but not what Im trying to achieve here).

I agree that driving around some of the wider GP circuits like Silverstone and Brands Hatch is not much fun in a normal road going car. But other circuits like Cadwell Park would be a real hoot.

I think the big section missing would be least of your worries, have you seen the state of it lately?

And what's left is a little on the bumpy side ...

Best circuit in a road going car by a mile is Knockhill in Scotland, Its so narrow you want to see BTCC go round there awsome

I would be interested - depending on date price etc..
