Totally useless i know but my c36 does not have a limiter fitted 1996 so that means in an out right drap againts any euro supercar i would win as these car are limited to 155. i really want to let the stig thrash mine around the track as i am pretty sure i would be quite high up on the wall of times.
just wanted to share that with you all

V8 M5s limiters seemed to not work in top, only in 5th, so an upchange greeted you with more mph....

I know this /only/ hypothetically, of course. As I do from knowing that 160mph isn't much faster than 155, but when the Audi S3 hits its limiter you can smile, knowingly, and edge past in your sensible family volvo saloon

Don't beleive the speedo ..... it can be out by 10% at those sort of speeds ..

IIRC all AMG cars are limited , except for the big CL's , S and CLS class that AMG will delimit from the factory if you ask ( and pay for ) ... not saying yours hasn't had the limiter removed , but it won't have been by AMG i wouldn't have thought.

What's the evidence ?

where do you go to up the bhp on my 36.
i will be doing the work myself i have been told a remap will get 20brake. but that is not viable for the cost i have to admit im a sucker for power.
but i think im about done with this one as i really cant do much to it

how much Power have you got. It is a 3.6 straight six about 280hp standard. Has it been modified ?did you get it brand new

Well , Bobby Dazzler worked out the theoretical max for mine ( 280bhp ) which is pretty much the same as yours and it was circa 165mph.

So , in theory , it will go that fast , but you'd be running out of puff at 160 mph , the last 5 mph would take ages .....

Who took the limiter off yours ?

What were you using to read the 160mph ? If it was the cars speedo , forget it ... it'll be wildly inaccurate at that speed ...

A 17ft, 2 tonne S500LWB in the Hammerhead is not going to look good at all - however, hammering through the follow through at full chat would be interesting, even if it was just for the sound of it.
