Top Gear's greatest moments

I particularly like the bit where the BBC finally got fed up of Clarkson and told him to do one.

I like the Top Gear specials, such as the Botswana Special. Awesome stuff, especially when they use cars that are, by definition, extinct.

You can still watch them if you Google 'Top Gear Specials'.

The Vietnam and Bolivia ones were also very good. I'm in the love top gear camp. Always have been, was gutted when it finished.

The worst mistake the Beeb ever made was to kill this show. Top Gear, with Clarkson, Hammond and May, was, and still is, an institution.

I'm going to watch the LoveFiLM/AmazonPrime release and see if it still has THAT magic.

The Brutus

reminded me of Babs the car that J G Parry Thomas used to break the world speed record at Pendine sands in 1926. The car used a V12 27-litre Liberty aero-engine and was ultimately to kill him- a thought perhaps not far from JC 's mind when driving the Brutus.

Forgot the name of that car, thanks for posting the video link - what an absolute beast that must be to drive around. :D

Bolivia special for me. I prefer the older specials compared to recent years gone by. Botswana and Vietnam also very good. The best thing about Topgear though was the cinematography. If you watch the ones from last 5-6 years filmed in Native HD each episode is a work of art especially the road trip specials.

My favourite is from 1992-ish when Quentin Wilson is looking at cars at the Classic Car show at the NEC. He does a walk around narrative of one of the cars there, which I bought. The car has long since gone but the registration number I transferred from it is still with me, and is my favourite.
