Anyone see Total Emergency on TV last night? A fine example of our Emergency services advanced driving skills  Paramedic on a blue light run through Sheffield takes both hands off the wheel at speed in order to put his blue PVC gloves on. How unsafe is that? What a good use of taxpayers money spent on teaching paramedics to drive fast but most of all safely, to have them display dangerous driving like this. If I were his boss and were watching that programme it would be a written warning. If I were the police and watching that it would be a severe B******ing for him. What a great example to set. surely he could have put his gloves on when he was stationary and getting out of the car?

I never got that far in, as soon as the commentary started banging on about the danger of a spark igniting the petrol of the overturned car I knew that they would do nothing but over dramatise the events and I would kick the TV out of the window.

Highland Rescue was the same, cracking flying and scenery but the commentary just left me wanting to KILL.

Yes, I thought it was interesting to see the fireman removing the POSITIVE battery terminal of a crashed car first.

You call PVC gloves sensible handwear do you CC....matches the suit no doubt..;)

I was appalled to see a paramedic on a shout driving without a seatbelt near me the other day - what is the world coming to?
