Touring: North Wales and Lancashire

No mention of Petes Eats in Llanberis! I did tell you about it, so it looks like you missed one of the best cafes in Wales, if not the UK.

Funnily enough we were there the week before last:

Creepy, you've done the same style of processing as me with range compression....

We were so stuck for time, only two days there, went to Llamberis, thought the railway was a smart move, but at £25 each hoofed it up the Hill for about 1000ft, then thought we'd go to Portmeirion....

You should write / photograph for Evo or similar.

Your reports are far better than most magazines! Even better you could give a 'G' rating on the food to boot :)

Agreed.

As always, a great report and excellent images.

Steve, next time you are in the area we should repeat the visit to The Balti Restaurant or maybe we can have a GTG at The Dog Inn. :thumb:

I was going to do as we did last year but the timings arriving to Wales and leaving meant an overnighter and a curry couldn't be done.

The Balti night was a top class one mate, and would be up for a trip to the Dog:thumb::D

Good man! Let's make sure we get DM with us again. No chance of getting you both in the back of my Sprinter again, though. :p I sold it when I bought my Vito.

DM is a hero, was a proper good night that :D.

Have you seen his latest toy, not a PTG but a similar thing. Its err, geeky, but I can see it's use. The Vito is the same engine as my car, we'll talk V6 pro's and cons.

Did you know its because of the Vito Mercedes went back to a V6 engine, as i6 wouldn't fit into a van...

Some engine for a van, must go like stink:thumb::eek:

DM = Legendary font of all knowledge, top notch comedian, and a great friend to me. After my back surgery, I got sounder advice from Will than I did from the NHS. I'll always remember that. Thanks Will.

Not seen his latest toy?

The V6CDI, in a van... What can I say? ;)
Now you know why BTB500 has his de-badged. That must be fun.

Look forward to seeing you next time, mate. :thumb:

I didn't know that.

The I6 is a fantastic engine and I'd bet serious money it would outlast the V6CDI. Probably more economical too. My S210 had the I6 OM613 - A real bonka!

Curry at the Balti. The Balti is amazing, I want to go there now....

The Chicken Rogan Josh is fantastic. With one exception when sharing a takeaway, it's the only dish I have eaten from there. I know I'd be disappointed if I tried anything else.

If you are ever in Stockport, try The Heatons Tandoori. I tried it for the first time last week and it really is excellent food. 33, people dining in a side-road restaurant early on a Thursday evening tells a story.

In Oxfordshire? The Thame Tandoori.

In Chalfont St Giles? Miltons.

I could go on.. :o

You need to come to Glasgow, curry galore. Tim Kemp did it and enjoyed a curry last year.

God I want a curry!!!

Handy these recommendations, I find myself just err, touring....
