Touring: The sheds first jolly on her new set up. Fife and Loch Lomond...

There is a brilliant Kurdish restaurant called Hanams in Edinburgh. Its great for Shisha smoking and kebabs.

M6, m74 then take the A701 to Edinburgh.

Pm me if you want a google maps route of a highland tour.

PXW. Nothing gets left on plates, nothing....

Ah the Biggar road...know it well.

I used to do the A1 and sometimes divert via the A69 or A7 but the speed cameras soon put an end to that. Not that I speed, it's just the feeling of being watched that spoilt the whole experience.

Either way has some stunning scenery.

Glad your happy with your car now.

Great shots and you have inspired me to do a tour when we are next up in Scotland.

My in-laws live in Dundee, so may have to pay a trip to Hanams, as that Kebab looks awesome, problem is its making me feel hungry now :-(.... idea for another thread...best Kebab shops :-)

If I have the energy would love to drive one of my cars up, but will more than likely just fly up and take my father in-laws XC90.

The shed did good today in a foreign land...

Suspension is amazing. As good as the kebabs in Hanams...

A7 is a good but slow route, a701 is the one.

Tan, from Watford it's doable in a day, and way better than flying. Come on my tour in Septmeber and find out just how good touring in Scotland is...

Great write up and pictures as always Steve.

Good to hear the new set up is up to the mark. :thumb:

Cheers Paul. Long may the sheds triumph continue. If it keeps on giving me days like today then I'll be very pro shed again.

I've had lots of fun on the A701, its amazing fun to drive very fast along it :D

Me too. When I was studying in Edinburgh I had a lot of mates from Dumfries and Galloway so used to go up and down it a lot.

There are so many good stretches but the downhill bendy section heading south into Moffat always sticks in my mind.

These days if I'm doing the London trip I'll always use it as it's an hour of refreshing driving on either end of a very long and dull motorway schlep.

The other way from London is to head up the A1 and then play on the A68 which has great views and a few good turns. Just out of Edinburgh the A702 is a good laugh winding its way down the Pentlands.

If you really want to laugh there is the way to Gullane via Aberlady and Longriddy. Great twists and turns and east Lothian roads are a laugh a minute around north Berwick.
