Just had a towbar fitted with proper canbus electrics on my W211 Saloon. Cost £385 all in and they fit on your site. I'm pretty confident that the price is keen as I spent a long time searching and calling!

Craig and accomplice did a great job - please mention I sent ya.

Edit: Just for a laugh I asked MB what they would charge. £847.83 + vat and that is without fitting

MB Birmingham (MB themselves not a franchise) outsource their tow bar installations with a tidy mark-up - at least they used to.

The local mobile fitter does it for them at the dealers premises: of it looks like the dealer fitted it, then they can charge like the dealer fitted it!!

I just bought mine from Watling Engineers and fitted it myself ( all in about £140 and a couple of hours work ) .

Watlings will still supply towbars for any Mercedes from the 1950's ( Pontons etc ) to date !

Thanks for this. Could have probably saved around £50 by doing it myself - but the canbus wiring need on a W211 was what bumped the price up (by £110 if I recall) I could have had a "bypass" kit fitted but from what I understand there can be potential problems and I did not want to "spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar"!
