Hi. Just purchased a set of 17" wheels and winter tyres off a 2007 W221 which I have been advised will fit my 2016 W222. The wheels do not have TPMS fitted . Is it worth buying a set and having calibrated or will I just come up a warning light for the 4 months there on?
Thanks

Tyre pressure monitoring is done I think VIA the ABS and the ECU so you should be OK

Two systems, one that displays the actual pressures in the cluster and requires pressure sensors in the wheels.

The second, as mentioned above uses the ABS senors and only warns of a significant pressure lost without identifying which tyre.

Which system do you have?

I would imagine that as it is a 2016 model, it would have the Tyre Valve Pressure sensors and not the old fashioned ABS system.

If you got universal valves fitted then they will self calibrate - at least mine did when I fitted my winter wheels last year.
