Hi all

Back in the uk soon and trying to get ahead of things not behind.
Electronics are not my strong point but I have a multimeter so here goes:-

I have a severe battery drain on my 300 sl24.
How can I trace the cause? I really dont know where to start...
TIA

You could first define what "serious battery drain" means to you? Does the battery run flat overnight or in a week?

If your battery is good, I'd measure the quiescent current from the battery lead with a MM and would start pulling off fuses. Once the drain drops, you would have an idea where it comes (does not have to be the exact control unit).

Most likely there are typical consumers in your model, members familiar with this model could give accurate guidance for potential faults.

posssibly micro switches in boot/door locks stuck.
