Can anyone Help?
Is Item number 35 a Track rod end?
Is it advisable to replace both sides
(I have a M.O.T failure on drivers side)

Thanx in advance

Regards Joe

Yes part 35 is the track rod end, just change the faulty one and then check the tracking, its an easy job if you are a good DIY mechanic

Thanx very much for your help.
I was confused with the terms tie rod ends and track rod ends.

Best Regards
Joe

Yes, I would expect a tie rod to describe a solid bar coming down to a suspension part from a bracket on the chassis. They have rubber bushed 'eye' shaped ends. The Americans may use the term 'tie rod' to mean track rod, I'm not sure about that.
Item 35 is deffo a track rod end. As Harley Man, you may find only one side has failed and the other may be OK. It's not essential to have matched pairs.

Be wary of the fact that some mercs have complex steering geometry set ups and if there's any wear in other parts of the suspension, a simple retrack might cause other problems. Use search on here to see what I mean.A member called 'wheels-inmotion' puts up some good posts on this topic.
