Been done.. I remember a guy round here having a LWB Mk2 Transit fitted with a Rover V8 back in the 80's. Don't think he drifted it but it was certainly quick in a straight line

If you want a v8 ford van , buy a Ford ECONOLINE, hundreds of thousands sold , easily tuned . Had one a few years ago , plenty of power , but handled like a cabin cruiser . ( bit like my 450sl really ).

Many years ago a mechanic friend of mine had a tatty and very standard looking Transit that had a 4.2 Jaguar engine in it. That used to catch people out at the traffic lights!
