Hi,

Can anyone please assist me?

I have had the above car for 6 years now and has never had a single problem.

Is just on 41,000 now so is very low miles for a 2011 plate.

When driving on the motorway the gearbox is going a bit odd. Not changing gear correctly and over revving. If I then stop, remove the keys, then restart, all is fixed? No warning lights on the dash or anything, but definately not right.
This only seems to happen on the motorway, and is fine going to and from work (non motorway).

Have spoken with a Transmission place some 30 miles away, but they want £78 to put on the diagnostics....Which seems a bit steep??

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi
Have you had the transmission oil changed / serviced? Some models it was due around 40K or just before.
Might be worth looking into?

Where do you live , an MB independent specialist may be a better start point

Well it looks like you need to find a mercedes indy near you,who will have a star,I suspect your box will not be making any codes to be read, but a ATF and filter change will cost around £250 and may well sort the problems out.

Thanks for your replies guys.

I live in the North West and have googled a indie dealer in Tarleton (TCRM Motors).

I will give them a call tomorrow, and book in for a transmission oil change at the least.

If the car resolves with a key off/ key on cycle there will be fault codes in your transmission ecu. likely a speed sensor fault. I'd be looking for a code read first as you have limp mode activating. Changing the fluid and filter is a hope too far in my eyes. Anything with these is a sump off job. You'll be paying for the fluid and filter again more than likely.

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow and describe the issue.
I'll report back what they say.

Thanks again for your support.
