I've bought a new SL and the battery is not in the boot like the previous model.
Also has no fag lighter and the 12v in the boot is switched positive so no good.
I think the battery is behind the drivers seat but no easy access.
Only point I can find is under the bonnet, which is a bit of a faff connecting crocodile leads.

Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks

I'm reading the question as " where to connect up a battery charger"

I use the dedicated charge point under the bonnet. There is a red plastic cover that slides back for the positive connection and a brass earth point near the suspension mount. Only way to improve on that would be to wire in a fused socket in a more convenient location.

I think there is a second cigar lighter fuse slot on some cars, so you can switch the fuse over so as to make the cigar lighter live all the time.
Others may know more or your local MB dealer might be able to advice.
