E220 Coupe 2017 A45s Plus on order
Hi,

Can anyone tell me if this trim clip (see image) is screw in/out, or pop out?

It doesn't seem to be in two parts, so not sure how to get it out. Car is W238 E220 Coupe 2017.

Need to replace rear inner light unit, (in the boot lid) thanks to a cyclist running into the back of me and scarpering - trim has to be released to get at the cluster.

‹£287 fitted by dealer, £60 from breaker in perfect nick so want to do it myself.

many thanks in advance for any advice.

You need trim removal tool with prongs like a fork

The prongs slide under the mushroom head and you pop it out

As above plastic trim removal tool and you’ll probably need to replace it after. They are £1 from MB.

Thanks Greenmanslk.

I thought it might be a pop out because it's a single piece, no centre plug etc, but the fact it has three slots on it made me think it was screw down.
I don't mind trying to pop it out, and can buy replacement if it snaps but don't want to leave part of it in if it does snap off.

Anyone got idea of a part number? I cant find anything that looks like this on google etc, and no u tubes on the new gen E coupe.

Thanks - Ill see how many I need to pop out to get to the cluster, and then off to the dealer for replacements.

Spread fork tines may do the trick...
