hi

when i test drove my 1999 CLK convertable (pre facelift) on sunday it came up with "4000 miles to service" and "washer fluid low" texts. Is this a trip computer...? the dealer said that the buttons + - and 0 on the left of the binnacle select the functions and can show MPG, miles to empty, distance etc etc.

is this right? as i couldnt seem to find the MPG display etc.

Do you think it has a board computer on it? if it said washer fluid low etc what other messages does it display?

i havent piucked up the car yet from the dealer so unable to check myself!

thanks

derek

I had a CLK 320 just like the one you're buying, except it was Quartz Blue. It does not have a trip computer at all, just distance to service and the washer fluid low texts. It does not show MPG etc etc. You can check oil level too by going through a series of steps (none of which I can remember!!).

Having said all that, it's a great car. It's quieter with the roof up than my current C240 with the AMG wheels. I picked mine up from Stockholm, drove back via Germany, and was cruising at 120mph on the autobahn with roof down, wind deflector on and BOSE sound at full blast, chasing a man on some bike. Sun was out too. Glorious.

It depends the age of it . The older ones don't have this.

If its got the blinky mirrors ( indicators on the mirrors) and the buttons on the steering wheel . then yes. Use the page button to scroll through all the pages.

The Screenwash will appear as a malfunction and the MPG screen should have 2 trips. 1 after start and 2 since reset. this can be accessed using the up and down arrows.

You should also be able to control your stereo assuming its still the MB one thats in there.
