Trip mileage

Hi everyone first time on this forum hello to you all.
Question I hope someone can answer.
I’ve had my 2010 e220 cdi avantguard two weeks now and have gone right through the manual.
But.... regarding the trip I know how to reset the trip and navigate the menus but when I’m in the dash clock mileage menu it shows the car’s total mileage and above it another mileage which coninsides with the mileage travelled since I collected the car. But it hasn’t reset. Or is this something else?
Your help would be appreciated.
