What is the link between Vic Mackey of "The Shield" and Mercedes -Benz ownership?

The connection is that Michael Chicklis' AKA" Vic Mackey " new set of Wheels is a midnight blue hemi Dodge Charger LX which shares the same platform as the Chrysler 300 which, rumour has it, is partly based on the last Mercedes E class chassis. These Chrysler cars pop up all over the current TV series:- Paul Guilfoyle's character Captain Jim Brass on the CBS program CSI drives a black Charger, and the agents on the popular CBS tv series NCIS all drive Dodge Chargers. As they say "there's no such thing as bad publicity"

Thanks for that, I'd been trying to work out what Vic's new wheels were. Agree with you about the series though I'm still an out and out fan of NYPD Blue.
