Car
~
Just spent a few nice days in Paris, remarkable number of Smarts and A-classes about town. As always, terrifying to cross a street, as cars manoeuvre around people on a zebra crossing. Witnessed a few famous "French-style" parallel parkings, quite fascinating

Really wanted to stick around one particular Bentley locked front and rear by a bunch of cars all literally linked together, just to see how they get out of this, but got bored quickly :dk:

I'm glad I don't have to drive there!
Fab weather and great food though :bannana:

Friend of mine has a flat out there, takes his battered old Rangie Classic over from the UK. Strangely enough, nobody seems to touch park with it.

Just back from Sorrento and must say very very impressed with the driving out there! Given the Italian reputation for volatile, emotional character the driving was very tolerant.
hierarchy seems to be pedestrians, mopeds, cars. Step out into the road and drivers simply stop, no histrionics, no rage. Mopeds dive in and out of traffic with impunity.

I was very impressed!

I agree. So far never had a problem in Italy. If you want to cross the road the traffic will go around you. The problem comes when you stop part way across.

In Paris, colour coded bumpers are a waste of good paint.

In Milan they seem to be disappointed if the park and leave on wheel on the road :D

zero cost option french impact sensitive parking sensors.

I was once nipping into a solicitors in town and there was a space immediately outside. shame it was only exactly the same length as my Sierra...
I left the car touching both cars front and rear.

Worked for me...

Not just Paris...
