Hi guys I’ve just got my s212 e63 a few weeks ago and already thinking of adding some serious power to it after upgrading the brakes.
As mentioned previous I had a w212 2015 e63 about a year ago and got it to stage 2 and that was seriously quick but ive been looking into the tte900 package from MSL performance and was seriously considering that.
My question is has anyone else had this package done by MSL and have any feedback is it worth the 10-12k? I know that may seem a lot of money but to get that type of power out of a gtr you would be looking over double. I’ve spoke to someone who had this done on his cls63 and he says it drives the same until you put your foot down and does 100-200kmh is about 5-5.5 seconds give or take so it’s seriously quick mine currently does 100-200 in about 9.2 seconds so there’s a lot of difference! He also said he had it done 25k miles ago and no problems at all.

The package includes:-

TTE900+ turbo upgrade kit

Modified manifolds

Down pipes

Exhaust mods (decat and resonator removal)

Intake enhancement - spacers and filters

Cooling Mist Stage 2 Methanol Injection kit with professional installation - includes controller
Bespoke mapping.

any feedback would be great thanks.

I guess you’ve been speaking with Jules (@Cyclone1) already? He's probably the best (only?) source of real world info on those mod's on this forum.
Hi Phil yes I’ve been speaking to jules on Instagram and he’s been very helpful to say the least! Just wanted to know if anyone else have delved into it and there experiences.

In the UK I don’t think there are any other TTE900 M157 upgrades, but there are Weistec and Pure turbo upgrades.

Not updated my original thread in a while, but worth a read if you are considering a turbo upgrade.

Cheers dude I’ll give it a read

Wow what a read. Hats off to you, you have an absolute animal there and could of had more power but decided to keep it safe and it shows after over 20k miles being reliable.

The installation was excellent as was the mapping. I did lots of research prior to going ahead and wanted to make sure it was as good as it could be. Therefore a capped torque map running relatively low boost and meth were key. The turbos due to low boost are under no real stress, the capped torque map takes the mechanical pressure off the gearbox and the map & Meth mean no big increase in heat in the engine which can cause internal damage.

Many still don’t do this and some end up with issues, no different to the old high boost at low rpm remaps on the standard turbos. I’ve spoken to quite a few owners around the world who’ve done this type of upgrade and shared experiences, and a few have since revised their maps.

Go for it.....

Thanks again for informative answers as always. Just waiting to hear back from MSL on a few more things then I might go for it, with the meth kit as well I want it to be as reliable as possible.

Can I just ask, are you running standard oem discs and pads at the front? I’ve just put a post out on brake section on here asking people opinions on what brakes I should get I’m not a fan of oem ones.

I'm surprised you find the OEM discs and pads unsatisfactory on your E63. Coming from an E55 with SBC braking I have found the OEM pads and discs more than adequate on my 2014 saloon. Saying this, I haven't had to pull down quickly from much over 130 (on a private road of course;)) so I understand if you are tracking or doing autobahn runs at high speed you may feel different.

Have you tried EBC Redstuff ceramic pads? I wrote to EBC here in Northampton as there aren't any pads listed on their website for the fronts of a W/S 212 in the UK yet US owners can buy them easily. I was given this Part# for front EBC Red ceramic pads if you want to explore that option.

I went OEM all around. I had them fitted in Dec but the car has only done a few miles since, as has been in storage. The difference between what the brake feel was like on the worn discs / pads v the new ones took me by surprise, as the new ones are so much better, sharper and instant. The discs and pads I took off could have lasted longer, but it just goes to show how you get use to them, I actually thought they were good before putting the new ones on.

If you visit the US MBWorld forum then there are lots of threads on there. There are no obvious alternatives that give noticeably better performance, but the main goal seems to be finding and using more cost effective alternatives.

OEM discs and pads are fine on my CLS55. Was in Germany last summer with 10000 miles on new front brakes. Hauled a bit sharpish down from 170 with total confidence. Of course, it has 8 pot calipers.

Similar experience with my pre-facelift bi-turbo E63 PPP. Almost flat out on the a-bahn and hit the anchors hard. 180-ish mph to much less with no drama, and no fade.

Both e63 I’ve had the discs have been in different condition and have/had brake fade. I didn’t put any on the last one as the car had less than 20k on and they weren’t worn much at all. This car the discs are in much poorer condition so I’m just trying to hear people’s opinion on both oem and aftermarket brakes, as with not having both cars with new oem brakes yet I can’t really comment on the true capabilities of a oem braking system properly bedded in.
I would prefer to go for a 2 piece disc with racing pad anyway, thanks a lot for that link I’m going to look into it more but I think I’m going to get brembo 2 piece discs and ebc red pads then. Thanks!

Yeah I’ve had a few people say to me now the brembo 2 piece discs is a good option I think I’m going to go with that one but will go on mbworld and have a read up also thanks.

Some more options mentioned before

Thanks, I tried first link on the page and it didn’t work, the other ones are oem discs and pads which I have covered.

Ordering braided hoses all round and Motul 660 brake fluid also

there are some iron two part discs cheaper
