To be fair, only one is drilling, one is doing the hoovering and the third man is there to carry out first aid if the guy drilling falls off before they have built the safety handrail!
We aren’t allowed to cut unistrut in a vice using a hacksaw. Have to use a chop saw in a cutting station

HS2 today. 3 men to drill one hole. ££££££

Any work connected with Network Rail is massively overpriced.
My mate used to drive track machines for overnight and weekend rail work and the scandalous waste of money paid to the subcontractors doing the work was eye watering.

No weekends or lates. Zero overtime.

Had a digger driver on site last year who previously worked for a company which contracted to Network Rail. Company had since gone bust which is why he was then working for a local groundworks company.
First day he turned up in a 4x4 pickup. Next day he arrived in a Corsa van. I asked why he had the Corsa van & he explained that he was one of a few who operated a particular machine used on the rail tracks & he was sent all over the country. He talked about being sent to Scotland from Suffolk to do a 3 or 4 hour job and was paid mileage to get there & back. The Corsa meant he earned he earned well on the mileage allowance as well as being paid a fortune as a specialist operator on the rail tracks.
