My E class drives excellent 99% of the time, however once every few weeks it will go into ‘limp home mode’ (no warning lights etc.)

It will still drive fine, but there will be no boost. Pulling over and turning it off and on will resolve this.

Anyway plugged in Star and the codes stored are below:

- 2510-001 Check component Y100/1 (Right charge pressure positioner) Positioner signals fault. (Stored)

- 2632-008 Check system ‘charge pressure control’ Charge pressure is too high. (Stored)

The fact it drives perfectly 99% of the time makes me wonder how the turbo can be faulty?

The turbo actuator was replaced before, but the symptoms remain. I suppose I need the entire turbo unit replaced? Weird?

I had a look on ebay, and there are refurbed turbos for around £250. I would need to send my old unit back after it was removed.

Any advice?

Thanks

Variable vain turbo, they get sticky, probably half the reason your actuator packed up.

Do these have a transducer the same as the OM613?

Unsure bob, boost is controlled by the Maf and it’s sensors and a map sensor in the alloy intake pipe.

Thanks guys.

I think the replacement actuator was faulty, as the issue reoccurred immediately after replacement too.

Do they need to be calibrated or something??

Sell it and buy the most expensive iPhone. Oh hang on, you won't make enough to pay for it ;)

Hi everyone , I have a Mercedes E320 sept 2008 sport estate , love the car hence 253000 miles with 2500 miles adding every month due to work .

Turbo problem at the moment , replaced mainstream Lamber sensor after advice and code showing . no difference to problem on car, garage now saying actuator needs replacing and they are fixed to the turbo. After reading some emails here. comments are suggestion replacing actuator if you can might not work, so get the turbo replaced . turbos on ebay £200-280 0r £500 from garages . CAN YOU RECOMMEND TURBOS on ebay .
Then I need a decent garage to fit turbo but don't want to pay lots . any recommendations

Thanks I love the car not many left on the motorways . lol .
