turbo

    my car sounds as though its really desparate for air,hissing sound.turbo and power ,are all as they should be. any ideas?

    as above, for example , mine was hissing and all that turbo-y stuff last week. I replaced the seals on the in and out pipes of the intercooler, and no hissing.

    I'm not saying that's whats up with yours exactly, but i'm guessing the difference between a worn seal and a new one is less than a millimetre, but was making that noise, so any cracks, or seal wear at any stage in the system could be causing it.

    not leaking tiny drops of oil from the intercooler pipes are you, if so it's a quick fix.
