Chatting to chums over the weekend, it seems I'm one of the few not "on facebook" or sending "tweets"

Just wondering how many here are in a similar position.

Some people use FB and Twitter...your poll doesn't allow for that ...so I've been told.:doh:

I use FB a lot to catch up with people, I also use twitter but thats just to follow people (I never really post on it). So I chose FB.

Of course I'm only young(ish), and I'm hip and 'with it', so I'm allowed to use these tools ;)

I use FB but twitter seems baffling to me.#confused

Was on Facebook, left after realising a) I didn't like Zuckerberg's company and its policies and b) most of what I read was inanities that none of my friends would bother to utter face-to-face, and most of the literary, "oratory" and photographic masterpieces I posted went unappreciated.

Never on Twitter personally, use it occasionally for company matters.

Somehow, as soon as you sign up to Facebook, there are a zillion servers out there that know the most intimate details imaginable about your life

I wouldn't mind though having a Twitter and Facebook accounts, run by PR companies (as celebrities and politicians have), who will tweet and post on my behalf all sort of clever things that I never actually said...

I have a FB account, I used it twice this year.

I would delete it but it seems a pointless waste of effort.

So can I have a 'yes whatever but can't be ****d' button on the poll please?

"Finisterre"...no, couldn't find you.:p

For me facebook is useful - I moved around a lot in my youth (including being in the Army), so it's very good for catching up with people and 'socialising' (If you can even call it that when it's not face to face) with folks I'd normally most likely have lost contact with. I can see how a lot of people don't have a reason for it though.

I tend not to worry about facebook having all my details, if someone hacked in they'd only get bored looking at it all anyway :D You can add as much or as little info as you want, so you don't really need to worry about what they've got on you.

I use Facebook to check out interviewees...

I also upload blog updates to both, but that is done via the blog itself and is done purely to win corporate brownie points.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends around the world, mainly Japan and the USA. I use Twitter as a follower only, mainly some of my favourite bands and a few F1 drivers.

I am old(ish) not hip, and without it, whatever it is. So no FB, no Twitter.

Similar here.
Don't really like it and wouldn't miss it if it disappeared tomorrow. Was mithered by friends I used to do trackdays with who live too far to see socially.
Can see it's use, but prefer to swap emails/texts and meet up however infrequently with distant friends rather than live my life for all to see in the FB bubble.

Never bothered with twatter.

Twitter only for me. There are a lot of Mercedes related twitterati out there. In particular there are a lot of product launches.

Wouldnt ever use facebook personally. Might think about a company page for marketing purposes though.

If you positively have to know what time each and every person on earth got out of bed this morning, how many times a day they clean their teeth, or which sauce they put on their dinner, then both these sites are utterly essential.

Likewise, if you're vain enough to think that even one other person on earth would care about such banality in your own life, then again, it's absolutely essential that you sign up.

If you're a normal person, however...

Facebook for friends around the world
LinkedIn for work - we do most of our recruitment through linkedin
Twitter for advertising... can't see much point beyond that
