I have enormous sympathy regarding this tradegy and the people impacted, but I dont understand why have you posted this on a MB board?

For me because we have serving and ex police officers as members and parents of serving police officers.

Because we have an "off topic section" on here for posts of this type.

Kindly check out other topics posted in this area and you will see the breadth of topics discussed here is very wide.

By definition this section is not for Mercedes or motoring related topics but for those that may clearly of interest to MB club members.

Amazing how much pain can be inflicted on the human body and yet shows no outward signs at all.

So I am told.

There are no words for this, it's beyond normal comprehension. I just hope they let him keep his shoe laces and he does the job himself that we probably all want to do to him.

Please explain VTD - I don't understand.

Really?
I would have thought that an explanation would be totally superfluous.

The officers at the local nick will no doubt be extremely polite to Dale Cregan and will cater to his every need. Ahhmmm.

I think I understand but it's not really that obvious even if to you, and possibly the more enlightened, it is.

I have a son and daughter both are in the police force. My son is in the Met and my daughter is with Surrey police force. My heart really goes out to the parents, relations and friends of the two Manchester police murdered today.

I heard all police in the UK don't carry guns...do you guys think that would have made a difference if the officers had their pistols drawn while initially responding to the burgulary? It looked to be an empty worn down house, why would someone break into something like that? It seemed fishy from the start. Police in the United States draw their guns at anything suspicious, even when they pull over beat up looking cars over on the highway.

You heard wrong, golden. There are armed Police in the UK, but in specialised units.
