"2 SLR" reg on the fast one..

iPhone camera (plus free wine, admittedly) = bad photos. But Mayfair is definitely MB territory :thumb:

Saw a silver SLR with a short reg plate on the A4 earlier today. Perhaps that was it!

Doesn't Sir Stirling live somewhere around there ?

Was this a Mercedes GTG and why did no-one tell me.!!!!!!! :(

Says a lot though, does it not, that almost every car bears the MB insignia.:thumb:

That is outside the Colony Club (Casino) and just round the corner from Nobu, you can often see some entertaining sights there!

Much as I like to see Mercs on the road, it has to be said that the silver Merc E class or S class saloon has become so ubiquitous in the West End as an airport car / private hire vehicle that I can't recall seeing the last one in private ownership here.

ps - I regularly see a pair of Maybachs being used as airport cars picking up from the aparthotel next door.

That's the beauty of the E Class estate - most are privately owned!:bannana:

I got gip re taxi comments when i bought my CLK (it's silver)...as my friend got on to his push bike, I started to give it back.

Indeed he does. His distinctively-registered Smart ForTwo can often be seen parked just around the corner from his equally distinctive house.

.

I used to regularly collect my wife from her office in the City and it was starting to get really annoying, the number of times that people would come up to me, to see if I was the driver collecting them. What was more annoying though, was that sometimes they would not even bother to ask, they would just try an open the door.

In an E500 I could have a lot of fun when that happened

I used to get that a lot driving around Edinburgh in my Ponton , where I'm sure people mistook it for an FX4 taxi . To me , the two vehicles are distinctly different , but I suppose after a couple of shandies .....................

Derek, it looks like a taxi to me, and i've had no drinks yet

I suippose the taxi could be converted with a Ponton grille , at least as easily as that Calibra was turned into a CLK lookalike .

There's a little dodgy business idea there....
