Hi, my first post. I have just bought a CLK 55 AMG. It has 265-30x 19 rear tyres. Just put new Continentals on, and they don't feel safe in the wet. Should I go for 18" wheels with deeper tyres? Which tyres would be better in the wet ?

All tyres take a few hundred miles to bed in and give the best performance.
Goodyear F1 Asymmetric and Michelin Pilot SS are both highly recommended brands.

Ive got Goodyear efficient Grip on my s211 (admittedly) its a Derv, but they awesome in the wet.

As mentioned due to the tyre release agents used to get the tyre out of the mould, it takes a while for them to perform.

This process is exasperated in the wet as the agent is silca based.

I'm currently using super sports all round and they seem pretty good.

I've conti's 3 on back and 5 on front and very good I think.
