Hi all. Been a while since I posted here. Have been reading most days but not much time with work the way it is.

Anyway, I am getting a message up on the dash saying
"TYRE PRESS. MONITOR. VISIT WORKSHOP"

I can clear it OK with a press of one of the steering wheel buttons. I can also reset the system via the menus and the reset button.

When on a journey it seems to indicate correct pressures and a long journey will clear the fault. But, by the following morning it returns. Any ideas please?

Thanks

Dom

Hi Dom

Sounds to me like there is a problem with the actual sensors/mechanism which the car picks up when "booting" as it were. Suggest a call to your friendly MB mechanic may be in order. I'm sure it's nothing but IMHO any warning about brakes* should be heeded

* red rag to bull time - see other thread! :bannana:

Ah, car is a Dec 2003. Could be worn out sensors then maybe? Not sure which ones they are - large & grey when I removed them last year (wheel refurbishment). They were working fine for the last 6 months though.

BTW, do the pressure monitors have anything to do with the brakes? (hope not - been driving the car)

Highly likely the batteries are flat at that age. The 7 years/84 month lifetime is reduced depending on the number of alert statuses too.. Plus they would be activated during production.
Have a google search for Beru RDE001 or buy this part number from Mercedes: A0008223306

The amount of knowledge available on here never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for this. Much appreciated. New sensors on order.

All good! Your handbook will have the "learning" procedure - basically set the pressures, hold a button down then go for a drive.
