Tyres for clc 220 cdi sport

Hi all

Just had 4 new tyres fitted today

Gentleman said could I come back tomorrow for rear tyres as he did not have 245/35R18/92Y in stock.
Then another worker said that 245/35R18/88Y where the correct ones

So this is what was fitted to the rear.


I got home and because of the discrepancy checked my handbook and handbook states rear tyres to be 245/35R18/92Y

Does anyone know the difference between these two tyres and should I take it back and have the correct ones fitted according to what was on it and stated in the handbook.

If the manual states 92 load rating (630 kg), rather than 88 (560 kg), I would have insisted on this. Suppose you are also in a grey zone with your insurance, who could claim insufficient load rating, in case of an accident.

Thank you for such a quick response.

I have phoned him up and he is going to order in the correct tyres and replace them on Wednesday. I am so glad that I checked in the manual.

I probably wouldn't have checked if there wasn't a discrepancy to start with.
